Will Be Aware for Food!!!

I started part of my Awareness Seminar with a thought as to how hit or miss attendance can be to seminars like this. It was fun to think back to my very first seminar and I remember having 20+ people there doing self-defense for three hours! It was a great turn out in a very small space. So we figured for the next one we needed to rent more space for sure. We reserved the space, put out more flyers and got ready for the masses. In the end, my head student's sister showed. Yeah, that was it!!! It was sad back then; but really funny now looking back on it. It didn't matter in the end though, we gave her the best Self-Defense Private Lesson EVER :)

This past Friday though, was a completely different scene all together. It really was amazing to see how many people came out to learn a little more about awareness. It was also different to have all ages from literally 4 years all the way up present. It was fun to see the children respond to some of the games while also trying to get some serious points across for the adults. I truly enjoyed the experience.

To top that, I think I really enjoyed the concept of seeing so many people coming out to support a great cause. If you get a chance to stop by I think you will see what I mean. Just walk in downstairs and look at all the food that everyone brought!!!

WE truly are uniting everyone on this Food Drive and it is happening right here right now. Get ready for the new revolution that we have started. I think it is going to be a tsunami that will change the world.

Thanks to everyone for the hard work and remember, we are trying to go to 1000+ pounds of food by Saturday, December 6th!!!

Man we are really excited about our UFC Fight Night again at Bikinis Bar and Grill!!!  This is a great chance to come out and enjoy a mid evening event with some of your favorite training partners.  Hmmmm, who knows, you might even get to meet some new training partners.  Cool thing is that Warrior Clothing sent some extra T-Shirts to sponsor the event.  We will be raffling off prizes for every match during the UFC so everyone has a chance to win anything from a T-Shirt to even Free Lessons!!!  Definitely try to come out and please RSVP here at the school or click HERE to do it via the web.  If you would like a chair we are definitely recommending you try to make it out around 7pm to guarantee your seat.  There should be some great matches and we are looking forward to seeing many of you there. Kickboxing Graduation & Kick A Thon!!!

Wowza!!! What an awesome week it has been. It's hard to believe but it really has flown by fast.

It was great to see many of our UT students come out Wed, and Thurs to participate in our Kickboxing Graduation. Everyone looked really good with Heidi's Filipino Martial Arts Progression. The really amazing limb destructions combined with some great blitz-es and kicks was great!

We are looking forward to seeing everyone back for more Kickboxing next week. We will be returning to Basics while maintaining some more advanced kicks. We'll use this training to help with our Kick A Thon that happens on the 24th & 25th.

Speaking of which, if you know of anyone that would like to help... REMEMBER we are hosting all these events to not just stay in shape over the Holidays. We are hosting them to help boost us to our goal of 1000+ pounds of food for Capital Area Food Bank. This is a great goal and I think all of us can come together and participate. Since it is 1000 pounds.... get ready to do 1000+ Kicks :)

Can't wait to see everyone driving this goal strong. Keep practicing all week long to be ready!!!

REMEMBER... who you wanted to BE!

You have 6 WEEKS to make it HAPPEN!!

YOU can do IT... if you PUSH 110%!!!

STAY FOCUSED.

These are the thoughts that run through my head :)

Keep up the hard work and we'll cya sweatin to Black Belt Health and Beyond,

Happy Veterans Day - Food Drive Starts!!!

I wanted to write and say Happy Veteran's Day!!!

There was this thought that came to mind early today as I remember exactly what day today was. This thought had to do with our topic or concept of the month...

"REMEMBER, who you wanted to BE"

Even more important is to remember the people that have served in the Armed Forces defending our freedom and our rights. They have made it possible for us to do all the things we have always wanted to do. They have made it possible for us to achieve our potential 110% strong.

Since they gave to us, we should all look for a way that we can give back to our community, state and country.

With this in mind and since we have the freedom to give back, we are hosting a canned and non-perishable food drive for Capital Area Food Bank. Last year we were able to top our goal and make it to 800+ pounds of food! This actually added up to 632 meals in total!!

We are going to set the bar a little higher this year by trying to raise 1000+ pounds!!!

That's right, 1000+ pounds. As you can imagine we are going to need your help to get us to that kind of number. We will be taking food and donations all the way until our Thanksgiving Break which will be from the November 26th - 30th. We will also be excepting food through the week of December 1st - 6th as well.

At the same time to keep you motivated we will be offering several events completely free of charge. All we ask is that you bring in some items that we can donate to the drive.

This weekend kick starts our first chance at making a big dent in our goal.

We are hosting a Family Awareness and Safety Seminar this Friday, November 14th. The seminar will take place from 630pm - 730pm and will cover drills that everyone can do. I highly recommend you bring a co-worker, classmate, friend or family member to enjoy this information. It is one of the most important parts of our Self-Defense Curriculum.

Remember the Seminar is completely FREE and open to everyone. All you have to do is make a small donation (or big :).

We are looking forward to helping everyone this weekend achieve a higher level of self-awareness and confidence through the holidays and many years to come.

Feel free to call to RSVP and we will save you a place.

Looking forward to seeing you soon and we hope all is well with you.

Heidi's 3 Day / 60 Mile Walk

Wow what a weekend. I was really all over the place on this one. On Friday we had business as usual plus many private lessons. Saturday included teaching the Kids and then running a punching bag booth at a Fall Festival which really rocked. I then picked up Kurt and we hit the road to Dallas around 630pm. Truly an easy two days compared to what my wife and another 3199 people went through on these days.

You could see the push, drive and passion once again in so many faces that did the Susan Komen 3 Day. It was amazing to see everyone at the last cheer station on Sunday as they just kept going. One foot infront of the other. It once again is awesome to see something that probably started off as a simple idea - get super charged into something much bigger.

For our 2x Black Belt Heidi this was her third walk and man did she have such and great pace. She really seemed to be making great time on most of the days. It seemed a little slower on Sunday with the crowds at the bathrooms, etc.; but she made really good time and was able to finish the entire 60 miles strong!!!

Once again, thank you to all those that have made her journey worth it. So many of you donated money, time and more to help her get to this wonderful event. It is this kind of selfless-ness that will truly change the world. Be sure to ask Heidi how it felt and give her a big hug of congrats because she really did us all proud!!! Love ya Heidi - Guro Larry
